On December 14, the Executive Committee of the Kentucky-Tennessee Conference approved the recommendation of the search committee to invite Elder Ken Wetmore to serve as the new Youth Director of the conference.
In September, Wendy Eberhardt, who had held the position since October 2005, announced her decision to accept a call to the Upper Columbia Conference. Shortly thereafter, a search committee was set up to review the qualifications of more than 50 potential candidates whose names and resumes were received from various sources.
After numerous meetings of the committee and hours of reference work via Skype, telephone, and personal interviews, the search committee recommended Wetmore to the Executive Committee for their approval.
Wetmore has served as the senior pastor of the Upper Columbia Academy Church for the last five years. He is a graduate of Fletcher Academy (1994) and Southern Adventist University (1999) and is currently working of a Masters degree in Organizational Leadership.
His previous work experience includes being a student chaplain, youth pastor, counselor and boys’ director at youth camp, assistant communication director of the Guam-Micronesia Mission and communication director of the Georgia-Cumberland Conference.

Ken was dedicated by Eric B. Hare and was “kissing cousins” to
Your Story Hour's Aunt Sue; so it's not surprising Ken loves to hear stories and tell them. He has told stories as a public speaker, radio show host, television reporter and anchor, communication director, and pastor. Ken's favorite story telling has come communicating the “Good News" through the Christ-centered teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Ken's wife, Rachelle, is an elementary school teacher and they have a seven year-old daughter and a six year-old son.
