Young Women’s Ministries

Greetings from Young Women’s Ministries!  For insight into our mission of love, here is our Mission Statement,

     * To provide a way for young women to develop a deeper relationship with God.

     * To encourage Christian involvement in their schools and churches to fulfill the gospel commission.

     * To mentor and to be mentored as women in leadership and promote Women’s  Ministries.

     * Our hope and prayer is for young women, in their spiritual walk, to be involved in the ministry and experience the significance of Women’s Ministries in their daily lives.

With this commitment, our leadership team included young women from various high schools who participated in the program planning for the year.  Together, we visited schools and churches to promote Young Women’s Ministries.  Much thanks to everyone who has given of their heart and precious time for this ministry! In this journey, we nurture closer relationships with each other, and experience how wide, high, and deep is God’s love!

Our 2013 calendar was full of activities!  At the start of the year, our sleepover at one of our leader’s home was an opportunity to get acquainted and plan for the year.  It was so much fun that the girls are asking when the next one will be!  In March, we joined the annual God in Shoes community outreach by Women’s Ministries and served other women in senior living homes and women’s shelters.  In April, we took the Madison Academy senior girls to downtown Nashville for photos at historic landmarks. Thank you to Chelsea Soapes, professional photographer and MA Alum, who gifted each girl a CD as a keepsake.  For May graduation, senior girls were given a personalized card in acknowledgement and celebration of their life milestone.  Our prayer is for the young women in this ministry to be God’s spiritual leaders in their journey.

The highlight of the year was our annual Young Women’s Retreat at Indian Creek Camp.  Our theme of “Circle of Friends” was a gathering of 62 young women and 35 chaperones and staff.  The girls arrived from various schools and churches in Kentucky and Tennessee – Harlan, Madison, Murfreesboro, Nashville, Portland, Louisville, Memphis, Oak Grove, and Pewee Valley.  For several months, our leadership team and school class representatives gave of their time for planning sessions and visited schools and churches to promote the event. Girls who attended the retreat were on the music praise teams, shared their personal stories, lead out in the program and supported and served each other.  Amazing and inspiring young women!  Blessings shared by all!

Our prayer request . . may our gracious and loving God bless Young Women’s Ministries outreach in 2014, our leadership team, and especially the precious young women who are moved to God’s higher purpose.  May our hearts desire be to honor and sing praises to God, in all we do! Amen.
