Learn from the best of the best in the field! Join this series of classes every Sunday morning in May (virtually) and in person during Camp Meeting. Attend all virtual classes as well as the in person sessions to receive the Certification, or attend as you are able, to increase your skills in sharing the gospel. You'll walk away with tools for crafting messages, training and hands on experience.

  • Our Goal

    Enhance the ability of lay pastors, elders, anyone — both men and women — looking to increase their skills to communicate God’s Word and the gospel by offering a class taught by the “best of the best.”

  • Class Includes

    Tools for crafting a message, Training in delivery, Mentoring, Offers hands-on experience

  • Our Hope

    Our hope is to empower students with increased self-confidence and proficiency to be used to share the gospel in churches and a wide variety of venues that will change hearts and lives.

  • Dates of Classes

    The class will be offered virtually for the four Sundays in May and continue during Camp Meeting for five days.

SPEAKERS

  • Roger Hernandez, MDiv

    Pastor Roger Hernandez is the Ministerial and Evangelism director for the Southern Union Conference, based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He is the author of 14 books including the “Sharing Book of the Year”—on two occasions—and the “Discipleship Book of the Year” for 2016: Everyone Welcome.

  • Carla Gober Park, PhD

    Carla Gober Park, PhD, MS, MPH is Executive Director for Wholeness & Faith Strategy at the corporate office of AdventHealth in Florida. She also serves one day a week at Adventist Health University as Assistant to the President for Mission.

  • Thomas Shepherd, PhD, DrPh

    Thomas Shepherd, PhD, DrPH, is Senior Research Professor of New Testament at the Andrews University Seminary. He has taught New Testament topics for 30 years. He is active in research in his specialty area, the Gospel of Mark, but he is also active in ministry as the interim pastor of the Eau Claire SDA Church, Michigan. He teaches a course at the seminary on the formation of the Biblical Canon and the text of the New Testament.

  • John Nixon, DMin

    John Nixon, Sr, was the Executive Secretary of the South Central Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, before he retired. Prior to working in this capacity, he pastored for 34 years in various cities around the division.

  • Hyveth Williams, PhD

    Dr. Hyveth Williams served for thirteen-and-a-half years as senior pastor of Campus Hill Church in Loma Linda, California. She is the first black female pastor and the first female senior pastor in the Seventh-day Adventist denomination. Prior to her appointment as professor in 2009, she also served as an adjunct professor of religion on the Loma Linda University Faculty of Religion and Andrews University Theological Seminary.

    She is currently serving as professor of Homiletics, Director, Doctor of Ministry program at Andrews University Theological Seminary.
