“I've been playing the piano since I was five. God gave me that gift as a young child and I have used it all my life to glorify Him. For years, my mother and I have played duets for camp meeting. I also enjoy playing the piano for my church.

In April of last year, my husband wanted me to learn golf. I am not very athletic and as I was learning to do a swing, I injured my left hand. I thought the pain would go away but it only got worse. As someone in healthcare, you would think I would’ve thought of getting an X-ray but I kept on putting it off. Finally, when I did get the X-ray, I learned that I had fractured one of the bones in my hand and though it had healed my hand was a messed up – one of my bones was dislocated.

I went to this world-renowned hand surgeon in Lexington. He looked at my hand and said, ‘you got severe arthritis. If you want to continue playing the piano like you do, you're going to have to get a bone transplant.’

At this point I was in a lot of pain. I couldn't play the piano. I couldn't even work because it hurt to type on the keyboard. I was devasted, so I prayed, ‘God, if you still want me to use this talent for you, please heal me.’

One Sabbath, my pastor approached me and said, ‘I understand you're having pain in your hands, how about we have an anointing for you?’ So, that’s what we did.

The following week I got COVID. For about three or four days, I was lying in bed. I was so focused on my COVID that I didn’t realize my hand didn’t hurt anymore. A week later, I took my splint off and looked at my husband and said, ‘I think my hand is healed.’ He replied, ‘Well, that’s because you're not using it.’ But I was sure, ‘No, my hand is healed. I can move it and I don’t have any pain.’

So, I got up and I started to play the piano. I also pulled out my cello because in my mind that was the ultimate test. Cellos are very heavy, uncomfortable to hold, and you play it with your left hand. Again, I said, ‘Bob, I don't have any pain. God healed me.’

It’s been a few months since that happened. I never had the surgery, and the pain hasn’t come back. I've had several wonderful miracles in my life from God – this was not the first one. Each time he shows me that He is alive. God showed me that he still cares. He cares about each of us individually. He hears our prayers, no matter how tiny and insignificant we feel they might be.”
