Shin Yeong Lee
Shin Yeong and her husband Yongmin Lee come to us from Toronto, Canada and are serving the Nashville Koren church.
Shin was born in Yeongwol County, Grangwon Province, South Korea and attended Youngnam Sahmyook High School and Dongguk University.
She says: "I was born into a Seventh-day Adventist family and was raised under the care of faithful parents who taught me about Jesus. At the age of eleven, I accepted Jesus as my personal savior and was baptized.
I thank God for my parents who have blessed me with a rich and bountiful heritage of faith."
Shin also shares how she met her husband: " Since elementry school my husband dreamed of becoming a pastor and I dreamed of becoming a pastor's wife. Although we grew up in different cities, after graduating from university, I was assigned as a teacher to Sahmyook Middle School in Gwangju, and my husband was also placed at a church in Gwangju as a theology student. We were introduced by a mutual friend--my colleague and his friend, and we began to dream of ministry together. We are truly grateful for God's providence and guidance in our lives." They were married in February 24, 2002, and now have two girls, Suyeon Lee 22 and Nayeon Lee 19.
Shin has a special interest in reading books, hiking, painting, and singing. As a family they enjoy traveling.
A favorite Bible verse for Shin is:
Matthew 19:26 (NIV) "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
