Alton Cantarutti Ordained to Ministry During Camp Meeting

During the Kentucky-Tennessee Conference annual Camp Meeting on Saturday, May 24, 2025, family and friends joined with Conference administrative officers at the Highland, Tenn., Church to commemorate the ordination of Alton Cantarutti.

Alton Cantarutti was born in Nashville, TN, and raised in Ridgetop, TN. His journey into ministry began between his junior and senior years of academy, while he was working in the pressroom of the Southern Publishing Association. A godly coworker involved in Prison Ministry encouraged Alton to deliver a Sabbath morning sermon at the old Tennessee State Prison.

Twenty years later, God called Alton to serve as a Literature Evangelist for the KYTN Conference. After ten years in that role, Alton transitioned to work with the ABC/Nourish, where he spent the next eleven years. During this time, he also assisted pastors throughout the Conference by speaking at their churches when they were away or covering other churches in their districts.

Alton was part of a group of nine families that planted a church in the Hermitage and Donelson area of Nashville. For the past eight years, he has served as the lay pastor at Victory Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he has learned that God doesn’t call the equipped—He equips those He calls.

Alton would like to thank retired Pastor George Whitsett, who served in the KYTN Conference in the early 1990s, for his wise counsel and support.

When we answer God’s call, He not only walks with us every step of the way, but He also provides everything we need to serve Him successfully.

Alton is married to his lovely wife, Ann, who serves alongside him in ministry. Ann works at TriStar Summit Medical Center as the Birth Certificate Clerk. Together, they have one adult son, Keith.

Alton enjoys spending time with his family in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee and North Carolina whenever possible. He believes the greatest reward in ministry is witnessing a new person come to understand the truths found in the Word of God.

Alton Cantarutti and his wife, Ann, pose with their gifts and Alton’s certificate of ordination.
